How can diet and lifestyle support benefit your business?

Reduce absenteeism and presenteeism, boost productivity, energy and performance levels, make staff feel valued and supported.

I understand how corporate business works having spent 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry, managing projects and leading teams at a senior level. You need high-functioning, productive teams that deliver despite the pressures that modern day working places on your employee’s nutrition, sleep, exercise and stress levels. With a degree in physiology and pharmacology and a post-grad diploma in Nutrition I understand the problem and how to deliver the solution. Staff need simple, practical and evidence-based strategies that they can implement to support their overall health and well-being. With the right support, early signs of health issues can be nipped in the bud and chronic health issues alleviated or reversed. My goal is to help you have a happier, healthier workforce that have the knowledge and tools to start making diet and lifestyle changes.

The problem

Too much unqualified information on social media, lack of NHS support and an increasing culture of ‘take a pill’ that doesn’t address the root causes of ill-health

There is a huge amount of information on the internet however much of it is from unqualified sources and I regularly see clients who want to improve their health but are now just confused about what to eat. Some have removed nutritious foods from their diets based on social media advice or are spending a fortune on a cupboard-full of low-quality supplements for which they no longer recall the reason they bought them. With 10-15 mins per consultation, GPs do not have time to help patients address diet and lifestyle issue and so are left offering a prescription. Half of all adults today take at least one medication and the most common health issues requiring prescribed drugs are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, overweight, reflux and depression. Anxiety and burnout are also significant causes of time off work whilst the more subtle impacts of menopause, low mood or stress have a significant impact on performance. These are all conditions that can be alleviated or in many cases, reversed by simple changes to diet and lifestyle.
